　　Now the foot-and-mouth disease， which has created havoc in Britain for months， stretches its claws to human beings for the first time.

　　According to a BBC report， the authority has confirmed that a worker from slaughterhouse has all the symptoms of the foot-and-mouth disease. The British Public Health Department is having an “urgent investigation” about this case.

　　The worker from a slaughterhouse in Cumbria of northwest England has the same symptoms as the animals， which have the foot-and-mouth disease， with blisters on his hands， feet and mouth. The experts say whether the worker has got the foot-and-mouth disease can only be diagnosed in about 48 hours. If it is confirmed， this will be the second case for a person to have the foot-and-mouth disease who has been diagnosed in Britain. The first case was in 1966.

Many people contact animals without any protective measures， and rarely people have caught that disease.” The experts say even if a man is infected， he will have very slight symptoms as if he has caught a cold and he will recover in one or two weeks.
